Card sleeve sizes
Every size in millimeters first, then all 52 sleeve lines we track with their real exterior dimensions.
| Sleeve type | Made for | Typical outer size |
|---|---|---|
| Penny sleeve | any standard 63x88mm card | 66.7x92.1mm |
| Standard sleeve | Magic, Pokemon, Lorcana, One Piece (63x88mm) | 66x91mm |
| Japanese (mini) sleeve | Yu-Gi-Oh and other 59x86mm cards | 62x89mm |
| Inner sleeve, standard | double-sleeving, goes inside a standard sleeve | 64x89mm |
| Inner sleeve, Japanese | double-sleeving 59x86mm cards | 60x87mm |
| Oversleeve | slips over an already-sleeved card | 69x94mm |
The pattern worth knowing: outer dimensions barely vary between brands. A Dragon Shield Matte, an Ultra Pro Eclipse, and a Gamegenic Prime all land on 66x91mm; KMC and Vault X run about a millimeter taller at 66x92mm, which only matters in unusually tight deck boxes. The real differences between sleeve lines are film thickness and shuffle feel, and that's what the entries below break down.
If you just want a recommendation: for a deck you'll actually shuffle, any 66x91mm matte standard sleeve does the job and brand choice is feel preference. For double-sleeving, pair a 64x89mm inner with a standard outer, then check your box against the fit checker, because that second layer is exactly what makes 100 cards stop fitting. For binder bulk, penny sleeves and nothing fancier. There's a longer argument in are card sleeves worth it, and the game-by-game sizing question is covered in are all TCG cards the same size.

Quick answers
- What is the standard card sleeve size?
- Most standard sleeves measure about 66x91mm outside and fit 63x88mm cards: Magic, Pokemon, Lorcana, One Piece, Flesh and Blood. KMC and Vault X run about 66x92mm, a hair taller but the same fit.
- What size are penny sleeves?
- The common penny sleeves from Ultra Pro and BCW measure 66.7x92.1mm. They're a loose, thin-film fit meant for bulk protection, not shuffling.
- Do Pokemon and Magic cards use the same sleeve size?
- Yes. Both are 63x88mm cards, so every standard-size sleeve fits both games identically. Sleeves marketed for one work for the other.
- What size sleeves do Yu-Gi-Oh cards need?
- Japanese size, also sold as mini: about 62x89mm outer for the 59x86mm card. Standard sleeves technically hold a Yu-Gi-Oh card, but it swims enough to slide around.
